“Almost Home” Gicleé Prints

“Almost Home” – As I worked out the details of this painting, I imagined how cool it would have been to be this guy. If you love the outdoors, hunting, horses, solitude, and adventure, you probably would have liked to have been in his shoes as well. Maybe you have been! It also brought back memories from my youth, packing horses into the backcountry of Western Montana to go camping and fishing. It was a ton of fun, and work. Work was clearly a large part of this man’s journey as well. Caring for these animals, while setting up camp, harvesting, quartering, and packing an elk, then packing up camp and heading safely home. I looked at this scene as the final stop of an exciting, but tiring hunt.
