“Serenity” – Once I looked at this image from my photo reference I knew I had to paint it. The horse and rider were of course the main focus, but the scene itself was so solemn, it definitely plays into the overall feel and mood. The water lilies were an added element that I felt softened the image and lightened everything up a bit as the reflection in the water was dark overall. I happened to have some great images of lilies from Sprit Lake, where I live that melded perfectly into this painting.
