“Solemn Path” Gicleé Prints

“Solemn Path” – I was recently asked if there was a historical inspiration for this painting. To some degree, yes. The subject matter in and of itself requires research and a historical element. However, my overall inspiration was the concept. I had been playing with this idea in my head for some time. The use of fog, combined with high contrasting foreground elements to create depth was the idea here. The overlapping branches of the tree aided in pushing the main characters back and bringing the grass forward. I hope you enjoy the result.
