“Without a Home” Gicleé Prints

“Without a Home” – The sequel to “Broken Promises” is a depiction of Plains Indians who have been displaced from their homes searching for shelter, food, warmth, and security. While four of the figures appear to be walking with their heads down, in despair, I did my best to convey on the face of the main figure a sense of anguish, concern, loss, and anger as he looks back at what once was their home. His was a fun and challenging portrait to paint. I chose to forego my reference image and complete this face from my head. I enjoy that process. For me, it is sometimes the best approach to bringing these characters to life.
